For Charlemagne Youth Prize 2014 application deadline has been extended

Strasbourg: The European Charlemagne Youth Prize aims to encourage the development of a European consciousness among young people, as well as their participation in European integration projects. It does this by giving awards to projects undertaken by young people that foster understanding, promote the development of a shared sense of European identity, and offer practical examples of Europeans living together as one community. Since 2008 the prize has been awarded each year by the European Parliament together with the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen.

The prize for the best project is €5,000, the second €3,000 and the third €2,000. As part of the prize, the three final laureates are invited to visit the European Parliament. The 28 national winners are invited to a four-day trip to Aachen in Germany. Last year Spanish youth media project Europe on Track was awarded first prize, Polish photo contest Discover Europe was honoured with the second place, while Estonian youth exchange project The Story of My Life came in third.
