watch the Nobel Peace Prize events in Oslo and Strasbourg

All eyes will be on Oslo this Monday, where the presidents of the Parliament, the Commission and the European Council as well as the four winners of the Peace, Europe, Future contest will receive this year's Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of the EU's citizens. The ceremony in Oslo City Hall will be held from 13.00 to 15.00 CET. The EP also organises a special event in Strasbourg on 12 December to symbolically hand over the prize to citizens. Martin Schulz, the president of the European Parliament, will on Monday receive the Nobel Peace Prize together with José Manuel Barroso, president of the European Commission, and Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council,  on behalf of the EU in Oslo. The three presidents will hold a press conference at 13.00 CET on Sunday 9 December with representatives of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

The official EU delegation that collects the Nobel Peace Prize on Monday  includes four young European citizens - Ana from Spain,Elena from Italy, Ilona from Poland and Larkin from Malta - who won a drawing and writing contest organised by the EU institutions together  with the European Youth Forum. They were asked to answer the question: what does peace in Europe mean to you?

On Tuesday, actors Sarah Jessica Parker and Gerard Butler will host the Nobel Peace prize concert in the Oslo Spektrum arena to honour the EU.

The European Parliament will recognise all EU citizens as laureates of the Nobel Peace Prize  during a special Nobel Prize event in Strasbourg on December 12. During the ceremony in the hemicycle from 9:00 to 9:20 CET, EP president  Schulz and Commission president Barroso will address the plenary and the 20 European citizens invited to the event.
