'Fast and Furious 7' to be completed even after Paul Walker's death

Director James Wan has confirmed 'Fast & Furious 7' will be completed following star Paul Walker's untimely death.
Wan said that the action movie will finish filming and be released in due course, despite previous speculation the leading man's death will result in the film being scrapped, reported TMZ online.
Production on the film was halted in the aftermath of Walker's death in a fiery car crash on November 30.
Wan confirmed the movie will go ahead and added the cast and crew are gathering their bearings following their friend's demise.
"They're pretty sad, pretty sombre. But we are all dealing with it," Wan said.
Walker starred in five of the six previously released 'Fast & Furious' films and had begun shooting scenes for the seventh film with co-stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

'Star Trek 3' hires three writers

'Star Trek 3' has hired three writers including Roberto Orci, who penned the first two films, along with JD Payne and Patrick McKay.
Orci, who co-wrote the first two JJ Abrams-directed films with writing partner Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof, will return to pen the script for the upcoming sci-fi blockbuster and he will be joined by franchise newcomers Payne and McKay, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
There is currently no timeline for the third film, but Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions are hoping to
release it in 2016 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of 'Star
Trek'.
Stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana are all expected to return.
Abrams gave up the director's chair earlier this year after he committed to direct 'Star Wars: Episode VII' for Disney.
Producers are eyeing 'Attack of the Block' director Joe Cornish for the next feature.
The film's release would follow the huge success of 'Star Trek Into Darkness', which grossed USD 476 million at the box office earlier this year.

Ben Stiller says he no longer has the drive for acting

Actor Ben Stiller doesn't think he has a "drive" for acting any more, but hasn't ruled out ever going back to it after he's finished directing.
The 48-year-old enjoyed making his latest film 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty', in which he plays the titular lead character, and he wonders if his passion behind the camera has taken over, reported Contactmusic.
"I don't want to ever be dismissive of it. To be a really great actor takes as much commitment as anything. But I do wonder sometimes, for me, if I have as much drive for that these days as I do to direct, because that I don't even question. But then it's also about finding the projects, and it's much more of a commitment.
"But you're not limited by being cast in something, what type you are, what roles you can play, because you are who you are, which is fine, but directing to me is so many possibilities, so many worlds to explore," he said.
The star admits he's becoming obsessed with directing because it forces him to focus on something.
"Directing is about obsession. Where it can start to hinder you is when you obsess on something you shouldn't be obsessing on. Or obsessing on something because you're avoiding something else. It's all about that anyway. It's like that line from 'Manhattan': We're all just keeping busy because we're all going to die and we don't want to think about it."

Thousands of fans attend Paul Walker's memorial service

Thousands of fans turned up to pay their last respects to actor Paul Walker during a memorial service.
The gathering was held at the crash site in Santa Clarita, California, where the 40-year-old actor died in a fatal car crash with friend Roger Rodas on November 30, reported Los Angeles Times.
The memorial service, which was organised through social media, was expected to begin at noon but fans arrived hours early to leave flowers, notes and other tributes.
Many fans joined the service in high performance vehicles as a nod to Walker's own love of cars and for his starring role in 'The Fast and the Furious' movie franchise.
Several cars which Walker drove in the street racing movies were on display in a nearby church car park along with a huge canvas, with a photo of Walker and Rodas on it, which fans could sign.
Walker and Rodas died when the Porsche GT, which Rodas was driving, collided with a lamppost and a tree before it burst into flames. The autopsy report stated, Walker died from "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries," meaning the actor not just from impact injuries, he also burnt to death.
The tragedy has been devastating to his fans as well as the actor's co-stars, who have used social media to pay their respects to Walker.

Selena Gomez felt like a man on tour

Pop star Selena Gomez felt like a man on tour because it was the first time she had real freedom.
The 21-year-old 'Come and Get It' hitmaker, who previously dated Justin Bieber, recently embarked on her 'Stars Dance' world tour without the supervision of her parents.
She said she felt liberated by the experience, likening her freedom to life as a single man, reported Contactmusic.
"I said something to one of my best friends on tour, 'I'm a girl and I feel like I'm living like a man.' I was overseas and it was my first time being single and not having my parents there, and having my two best friends and my cousin to travel the world with me," Gomez said.
"I bought them so many trips and gifts like cute scarves, so I felt like I was the boyfriend taking care of my friends," she added.

Paul Walker died of traumatic and thermal injuries in car crash

Actor Paul Walker, best known for his roles in the 'Fast & Furious' action films, died from combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries in a car accident, the Los Angeles County coroner said on Wednesday.
Walker, 40, was a passenger in a fiery one-car crash on Saturday in Santa Clarita, California, about 30 miles (50 km) northwest of Los Angeles. The driver of the Porsche Carrera GT, Roger Rodas, died of multiple traumatic injuries, the coroner said.
As a result of Walker's death, Universal Pictures has put filming "Fast & Furious 7" on hold for an unspecified period. The film was slated to be released on July 11, 2014.
"At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on 'Fast & Furious 7' for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise," Universal Pictures, a unit of Comcast Corp , said in a statement.
The coroner ruled that both deaths were accidents and said that the injuries occurred when the car struck a fixed object.
Surveillance video shows the red Porsche crashing into a utility pole and bursting into flames about a minute later, according to footage shown on CNN.
Toxicology reports on the bodies will be completed in six to eight weeks, the coroner's office said.
Walker became a symbol of street-racing and car culture in his roles in the "Fast & Furious" series, which has grossed more than $2 billion at the global box office since its debut in 2001.

Liam Hemsworth wants to reunite with Miley Cyrus?

Actor Liam Hemsworth is reportedly keen to get back with his ex-fiancee Miley Cyrus as he still has feelings for her.
The 23-year-old 'Hunger Games' star is apparently longing to win his ex-fiancee back, with whom he split earlier this year after a relationship of three years, reported Us Magazine.
According to a source. the former couple secretly met up last month and "talked like they did when they were together."
"He pushed to get back in touch. He still has feelings. The attraction hasn't gone away," the source added.
The duo have reportedly been exchanging romantic sort of texts but Cyrus is not convinced they should reunite.
"She's confused about how she feels," the source said.

Hugh Jackman enjoys meditating

Actor Hugh Jackman says he enjoys meditating with his children and feels it has completely changed their lives.
The 45-year-old actor, who has a son, Oscar, 13, and daughter, Ava, 9, with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, said they are naturally into meditation, reported Us magazine.
"I said (to one our our teachers) what do we do with the kids if we want to mediate? He said, 'Just be quiet in the house and tell the kids they don't have to mediate'," Jackman said.
"We got used to a quiet time together in the house. Now they're sort of naturally getting into it. Meditation has changed our lives," said the actor.

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson plan Christmas holiday in Paris

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are reportedly planning a romantic trip to France over the festive period.
The on-off couple have sparked speculation they are rekindling their relationship by this romantic trip, which will see them meet up in Paris on Boxing Day on December 26 after spending Christmas Day with their families, reported Daily Mirror.
The former 'Twilight Saga' co-stars will see in the New Year in France too as Stewart has reportedly rented out a farm cottage in a small town in a bid to spend some alone time with the 27-year-old star.
"Kristen intends to let Rob spend Christmas with his family in London but she's hoping they will travel to Paris on Boxing Day and from there on to the Loire Valley," a source said.
"She reckons it could be the relaxing break they need to completely get things back on track."
The pair ended their four-year relationship in May after they struggled to get past the actress's 'momentary indiscretion' with her 'Snow White and the Huntsman' director Rupert Sanders in July 2012.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley suffers wardrobe malfunction

Actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley suffered a major wardrobe malfunction on the streets of London after leaving the British Fashion Awards.
The 26-year-old accidentally exposed her modesty after the plunging neckline of her low-cut blazer shifted to the other side, reported Daily Mirror.
The model-turned-actress, who walked out of the fashion event bundled up in a Burberry coat over her raging red Antonio Berardi suit jacket and color-blocked pants, flashed a smile as she made her way through her fans and cameras parked outside.
The actress is all set to star in George Miller's 'Mad Max: Fury Road' alongside Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and Tom Hardy.

I'll never play a superhero, the cape wouldn't fit: Jason Statham

Actor Jason Statham has revealed that he has no interest in starring in a superhero movie, as he feels that the cape would not fit him.
Statham, 46, whose latest movie 'Homefront' to hit theatres this Friday, said that the visual effects-driven blockbusters do not hold any personal appeal to him, reported
Digital Spy.
"It's all about money, kids pay money to go and see them," Statham said. "The fascination is superheroes, it's what people want to go and see but you wouldn't get me rushing to the cinema to see those. I like the old-fashioned type of film.
"They've never offered me a part in one of those and I don't think the shoes would fit. Or the cape wouldn't fit!," he said.
'Homefront' will see him play a retired DEA agent who faces off against Louisiana drug dealers and Statham said that he welcomed the opportunity to reunite with Sylvester Stallone.
"When I read it I just knew it was going to attract a lot of decent actors. The parts were fleshed-out, good and strong instead of it just being 'here's the hero, here's the bad guy'. This was an actual, interesting good story.
"I liked the relationship my character Broker has with his daughter, that was new for me."

'Game of Thrones' to be used to promote Ireland

'Game of Thrones' has drawn in millions of viewers. Can it bring in tourists, too?
Tourism officials in Northern Ireland say they are looking at ways to capitalize on the success of HBO's fantasy TV series.
Much of the 'Game of Thrones' is filmed in Northern Ireland, which provides a backdrop of castles and rugged coastlines for the series' fictional land of Westeros.
Northern Ireland's Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster announced the tourism strategy Wednesday but gave no details.
Foster said she wanted to attract more than 2 million visitors a year to Northern Ireland by 2016, compared to some 1.8 million people in 2013.
