India test fires Brahmos supersonic cruise missile

DEHLI:India on Monday successfully test-fired 290 km range Brahmos supersonic cruise missile at Pokharan in Rajasthan.

Jointly developed by India and Russia, the Brhamos is capable of carrying a conventional warhead of 300 kg.

The Brahmos is a supersonic cruise missile and can be used against ship and land targets.

India is readying several versions of the missile which includes land attack, anti-ship and submarine-launched versions.
